Problems
1.  Fifteen sources jamming into a ten-page essay draft.  +Eight pages
in. -I’ve ref’ed three. 
2.  Examination upcoming Monday.  In comes an email: You’ll want to
read this and this and this.  Oh, and this.  And this.  And this.
[It keeps going.]  Plus review your notes and the fifteen books and
fourteen articles we read this semester.  Two hours?  Insufficient
time for the test.  Let’s go with 2.5 hours. Note:  This is *not*
excerpted from the actual email, but I’ve done my best to capture the gist of
the message.  Have I ever confessed how much I love exams? 
3.  Eighth grade is really a pain in the ass. 
4.  Another birthday fast-approaching.
5.  Back pain.
6.  A Bush’it administration and I scored a -20% on the
Republicant
quiz.
7. Gas prices.  Oh wait, I walk. 
8.  B’day card from my dad showed up early (everything okay?!), and
inside–"Happy Belated."  Maybe it’s for last year. Or maybe I wasn’t
supposed to open it. ; )

Solutions (in no particular order):

  1. Wow, a -20%! Cool. I got a -14%, and I thought I was hot snot on a silver platter, but compared to you I’m just a cold booger on a paper plate.

  2. 27% for me 🙂 I guess the older you get, the more conservative you get.

    Did I send you a birthday card?

    I just got a Christmas card in April. I’m not sure what year it was for.

    Does conservative thinking cause senility? Or does senility cause conservative thinking?

  3. I scored -20%, too. This was a fine quiz–fast, fun, and instantly gratifying. My only hesitation was on that last question on Reagan. I couldn’t decide whether he was a senile puppet or the cause of the upcoming worker revolution. You can probably guess by my score which option I finally decided on.

  4. The score probably (and just slightly) over-represents my leftist convictions; would’ve probably been just a bit more moderate (something like -10 or -5) if I could qualify the options. A few of the listings were less nuanced than I’d like, but hey, it’s a ‘net quiz.

    Heh, Clancy, nobody’s ever said “booger” on my blog before. Which question tipped you moderate?

    Damn…27%? Conservativism and senility–what would one be without the other?

    And Liz, I was split on answers to a couple of questions, too. Figured why not go with the polemic choice.

    I guess it might have been the Israel question and/or the taxes question…not sure.

  8. Well, if I keep at this business for long enough, it’s bound to happen again. And now other folks should be at greater liberty to say whatever they want to on the subject. 😉
