September the First, two months into the U-M role and I’m still riding the bus to and from Central Campus, whether that’s on the 5A or 5B doesn’t matter because the segment of the route I need is the same either way. A Kroger shopping cart was parked at my departure bus stop over the weekend. In it, a bike helmet, a tumbleweed of vines and wires, an empty 10-30 motor oil box, and what looks like pork chop bone. The nearest Kroger is on Carpenter Road, just over a mile from here, and though it’s not quite a Buggy of the Wind situation, I can’t help but wonder whether Bill H-D would have returned a cart this far estranged from its home store.
N.b. I am in part gaining a handle on compositing in and posting from the WordPress mobile app, while en route. The bus line’s distance hasn’t changed but its timespan has elongated due to the number of bus riders and the frequency of stops. These are immer intervals; I would like to change up what these mixed shape pockets can hold from trip to trip (more than reading, email, word puzzle games).
