To compound the Drain, I changed into more comfortable attire after I completely and thoroughly <em>Coked <\/em>my shirt and pants while sitting at the hotel bar with a former colleague and mentor immediately after my session.  Coking: that&#8217;s what it&#8217;s called when, while describing your dissertation project and gesturing enthusiastically with your hands, you catch the straw sticking out from the fresh glass of Coca-Cola that bartender placed in front of you moments earlier, only to have the cold cola splash onto your crotch and backpack. A sympathizer: &#8220;You alright?&#8221;  Me: &#8220;Yeah, yeah. Fine.&#8221; There was nothing to feel panicked about <i>after<\/i> presentation, which went fairly well (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.collinvsblog.net\/2008\/04\/no-cs-for-you.html\">check out CGB&#8217;s portion, if you missed it<\/a>).  The panel was well-attended, engaging through Q&#038;A, and so on . Goes without saying about the soda-pants kerfluffle: I&#8217;m still enthusiastic enough about my diss that I can dump a full glass of Coke into my clothing and continue the conversation without even standing up.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, by the time I walked a few blocks in these Naw&#8217;lins winds to grab a Peace Maker Po-Boy (w\/ Tabasco infused mayo) at the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.acmeoyster.com\/\">Acme Oyster House<\/a>, the Coke had dried. The sun peaked through the clouds. The sandwich was excellent.
