Santa Baby

If you haven't already checked out SouthFlorida.com's Scared of Santa gallery, you ought to.   I ran across the link at metafilter and again at datacloud. Moved me to search the PC for this pic of my first Christmas.  Clearly I had other matters to tend to, but I was keeping a hand check on the red-suited blow-up.  And wasn't scared one bit.

Don't be afraid.

I remember that look. It meant, "Hurry, I need my diapers changed!"

It also was similar to the look on your face when you realized that the family was going out on a x-country ski tour and you were going to ride in the back pack.

As you grew up, the "look" remained. It was especially prevalent when you and your big bro discovered that you would have to spend a Sunday afternoon stacking firewood in the basement.

Remember the time we put those 16' long pieces of drywall up in the ceiling of the office?

Ah, yes. We all have fond memories of those character building experiences.

Drywall, wood-hauling, ski-tour misery--what to do with all that character? And they age so fast, young ones.

You like the picture? I was being distracted, although not for the reasons pops suggested.

And now--in the immediate family ranks--you're tied with D for the number of comments posted to the blog in its first year. Whoopah! Now get back to your homework...learning that Spanish language, etcetera.
