year, I’ve set up a tournament group at Yahoo! for the upcoming NCAA Men’s
Basketball National Championship Tournament. You are invited to join the
Bloggers’ Mad Dance III (ID# 37991). It’s all free, no $

  1. As if in recognition of my eminent wisdom and foresight, Yahoo has already put me in first place in this group, and for this I compliment them.

  3. I think I’ll put the whole tournament in a random guessing machine. That’s probably about what I’ll be doing.

    Will enter asap.

  4. I hear ya; I can’t imagine doing better on my insight and analysis than I’d do on a randomization, even though I’ve watched hours and hours of college hoops this winter. I thought I understood the Big East, but then that melted away over the past four days (not that I mind SU’s mirzculous run). Big Ten? ACC? SEC? Big Twelve? Pac Ten? I don’t know who’s good enough anymore…Nova, Duke, Ohio State and Gonzaga? Memphis, Florida, UConn and Texas? Pitt, Boston College, Iowa and UCLA? Sheesh. Much guessing to do.

    just signed up and, as usual, i’m keeping it real for my Arizona Wildcats, despite their having had their worst season in over a decade. so i prob’ly won’t be much of a threat!

  8. Wildcats, eh? Along with several others (LSU, Memphis, UCLA, Cal and Nevada), Arizona is one of the 1-8 seeds that I haven’t watched a single time this season. This year’s brackets have me stumped. I ended up with an elite eight that’s not risky at all. If I end up not being a threat it’ll be on the successes of the top seeds. Safe but boring, my bracket.

  9. Derek, looks like safe but boring was the way to go. We’ll see if that continues, but there have been at least six games that were within seconds of killing my bracket only to turn around at the last possible sceond.

  10. Looks like even that approach has gone belly-up. UConn’s OT loss to GMason drops the final wrecking ball onto my long-ago broken bracket. Next year…

    Of course, the games have been good all around; everything a fan could hope for.

  11. I think our brackets are all done. Oddly enough, I think I’ve won, which wouldn’t have happened unless Florida beat ‘Nova.

    But as far as I could tell, my bracket was teh last one standing.

  12. Yep, way to go. Last one standing, you’re right. I’ve paid proper tribute, painful as it is to total the points five days before the Final Four.
