Song Is Getting Thin

EWM’s been on hold for a whole week.  I’d like to think blog-time will
open soon.  Or else what? Got three books piled up for the weekend and
semester-end projects, conceptually formed as they are, requiring a hard pry to
loosen them into keystroke-motion.

So it’s not an official hiatus, just a holding pattern.  Meanwhile, it’s
not like there’s nothing else to check on the net.  Today’s web
on earworms
is a fine distraction (particularly this,
this, this
and this).
And there’s this insightful quiz (via geek-guides)
which tells me my file type is j-peg.  Decisive category-maker must have
come when I answered that I’d rather burn my eyes with a hot poker than read another
book.  Heh…kidding?  Back to it.

You are .jpg You are very colorful. Sometimes you forget things, or distort the truth. You like working with pictures more than words.
Which File Extension are You?

  1. RE you holding pattern:

as an eager reader (and fellow writer), I grant you this. But as a reader of many blogs you also read, I’m noticing that you’re finding time to COMMENT (ie write OTHER PEOPLE’s blogs) even when you’re not posting to your own.

This evokes a strange mix of indignation and ______ (? longing for you to write a post of your own).

If I was smart, this could figure into our little points system.

PS I was a .doc. Yuk. 🙂 Much better to be a .jpg.

  2. Indignation: could be the file type. Not being a .doc, I can only speculate about that strange mix. The commenting drill comes on reading breaks. I break from sanctioned reading, scan a few blogs, type up a comment (occassionally I actually submit the comment). Back to sanctioned reading. Repeat.

So the loop plays over and over…with inadequate gaps for blogging. And December’s in sight.

  3. Madeline, I notice you’re doing more commenting than blogging, yourself. Moral: you can stop writing in your own blog, but you can’t stop reading everybody else’s!

  4. the *real* irony is that I REALLY DIDN’T REALIZE what a hypocrite I was being.

I definitely earn a point for that, eh? We’re back to even. Or whatever it was before I started waving the points around.

  5. Wait…I can’t remember if I’m trying to get points or return to zero. I’m thinking somebody gets half a point for my dad commenting at academom. Fair?

  6. ha,ha,ha….

having more fun than anyone should be allowed to have, even with my right brain tied behind my back….

  7. Glad you enjoyed it. I’m trying to avoid an Edmund F. earworm–in whichever side of my brain at the controls right now.
